This exceptional coffee comes to us from the Kamwangi cooperative whose smallholder farms grow their coffee in the rich volcanic soils of Mount Kona in Kirinyaga county. This lot consists exclusively of peaberries, which are the result of a natural mutation in the coffee cherry. Whereas there are usually two beans nestled together in each fruit, in a cherry with a peaberry mutation, only one bean forms. Peaberry mutations occur in approximately 5% of all coffee, are known for their small, round shape, and what many observe to be a sweeter flavour profile.

When we drink this coffee we think of...
cherry, rose, concord grape, pomegranate

Origin: Kirinyaga
Variety: Ruiru 11, SL28, Batian
Elevation: 1,100-1,800 masl
Process: Washed
